symerase stands for SYMmetrix ERASE and will allow the user to erase the contents of hyper and META devices by restoring a BCV Gold Copy to a given hyper or META device.

If the given device is a META, the META is dissolved first, and all its members will undergo an erase procedure.

The BCV Gold Copy must be named as well.

The hyper or META device is not erased if it is still mapped to a Fibre Adapter Port or masked to a WWN.
